 (Under age 17)

  • Custodial parent or legal guardian  (documents & Id)
  • Original certificate of completion (with seal) from driving school course (only for the learner's permit, not the TIP)
  • Birth certificate
  • Social Security card (only needed for the TIP)
  • Fee for permit
What to bring to DMV: Drivers License
(Age 17+)
  • Must have successfully completed Stages 1 and 2 OR be age 17+
  • Fee for license
  • Certificate of Completion from a Third Party Tester  (proof you passed the driving test - DMV no longer administers driving tests)
  • ​Birth certificate, learner's permit or TIP (depending on age), parent ID if 17 years old
​​What to bring to DMV: Intermediate License

(Age 16 plus has had learners permit for 180+ days)

  • Custodial parent or legal guardian (documents & Id)
  • Birth certificate
  • Learner's permit
  • Can attest to a minimum of 50 hours of behind the wheel practice with someone age 21 or older. (Minimum of 15 hours must be driven at night)
  • Road Skills Test certificate
  • Fee for license

Do you take checks?

  • Yes! we love checks- they may be made out to Louisiana Safety and Driving Academy. Please note in the memo section what course date you wish it to be applied to.
  • We also accept cash, money order or credit cards
  • Payment may be dropped off at the driving school.
  • We now accept credit card payments through our online registration system.

  • All classes are held at 4640 E. Central in Zachary
  • We are in the little blue house that faces the railroad tracks - yep, it use to be home to a pest control business!
  • We do not keep regular business hours, but are more than happy to arrange a meeting - just  text at 225-570-2412

What do y'all offer?


38 Hour Course $550:

  • Includes 30 hours of class room instruction followed by 8 hours behind the wheel driving (we provide the car!)
  • Participants must be at least 14 years and 9 months of age and a freshman in high school to enroll
  • $100 deposit is required to secure a seat. The remaining balance is due at the beginning of class. Class size is limited to 40 students. Check or money order may be dropped in the mail slot in the front door of the driving school. Please note the course dates in the memo section. The deposit can also be paid online by credit card. The deposit is non-refundable, but can be applied to a different class date if rescheduling is required.
  • We require a minimum of 6 students for class to be held. Again, class size is limited to 40 students. Those enrolled in a class not meeting the minimum will be notified ASAP that the course has been postponed.
  • The 38 hour course does not include the third party road skills test needed to obtain a full, unrestricted driver's license.


14 Hour Course $475:

  • Includes 6 hours of class room instruction followed with 8 hours behind the wheel driving (we provide the car!)
  • Sorry - this class is reserved for those aged 18 years or older only
  • We require a minimum of 2 students for class to be held. Those enrolled in a class not meeting the minimum will be notified ASAP that the course has been postponed


Third Party Testing: $60

  • Official State sanctioned driving test required for obtaining a license ($40)
  • We provide the car and driving instructor! ($20)
  • ​A parent needs to be present and have proper ID if you are 17 years old or younger
  • ​Must be 16 years old AND have had a learner's permit for 180 days OR be 17 years old or older
  • Bring TIP or learner's permit and birth certificate
